What ShareSetu is

ShareSetu is a free practice and research website for Indian markets. You can paper-trade Nifty, Bank Nifty and Sensex index options with virtual money, and read stock data, a market heatmap, IPO details and new listings.

Every new account gets ₹50,000 of virtual capital. This balance is a number in a simulator. It is not money, cannot be deposited, withdrawn, transferred or redeemed, and has no cash value.

What ShareSetu is not

ShareSetu is not a stock broker, sub-broker, depository participant, investment adviser, research analyst or portfolio manager, and is not a member of any stock exchange.

No order you place on ShareSetu is ever sent to an exchange or broker. No securities are bought, sold or held for you, and no funds are collected from you.

How simulated trades work

Simulated orders are filled against live or recent market prices from a third-party data feed, with brokerage, statutory charges and margin modelled as closely as we reasonably can.

Simulation cannot reproduce real trading conditions. Slippage, liquidity, queue position, partial fills, rejections, exchange outages and the emotional pressure of real money are not fully modelled. Results on ShareSetu are not an indication of results you would get in a real account.

Where the data comes from

Prices, option chains, candles and company financials come from a licensed third-party market data provider (Upstox). Index membership comes from NSE Indices.

IPO grey market premium (GMP) and subscription figures are collected from publicly available third-party sources. GMP is an unofficial, unregulated indicator and is not published by any exchange or by SEBI.

Some figures are our own calculations, such as approximate market capitalisation (derived from reported earnings and ratios) and the IPO fire rating (our score from GMP and subscription). They are estimates, not official data.

Data may be delayed, incomplete or wrong. Where data is unavailable we show that it is unavailable rather than filling the gap with an estimate.

Beta

ShareSetu is in an invite-only beta. Features, virtual balances and stored practice data may change or be reset while the product is being built.
